Based in Bend, Oregon Engagement Travel Photographer | Engagement Session

Deborah and Payton knew they had a special connection from the moment they met. From having to consistently hold hands or sit hip to hip, these two can no longer stay away from each other. Their parents have made a family joke that they are like a pretzel! You never know whose limb is whose with them.  You can see their ever growing love for each other in each photo I took during their engagement session. We went to each sentimental spot where their relationship had a milestone, from the spot where Deborah confessed her fondness for Payton to where Payton proposed.  I can't wait to see them get hitched on their wedding day, July 2nd and have them official become pretzel!

Payton picked out the most perfect engagement ring! and it looks pretty great next to pinecones too.

How fun is it when an engaged couple brings funiture to their outdoor engagement session! I especially love this vintage red chair!!!

Bend Oregon Engagement Photography (4).jpg

Deborah looked exceptionally beautiful in her black dress during their engagement session. We felt like she needed a little color on her though, so she borrowed the purple fedora hat I was wearing! It definitely looks better on her.

If your getting married in the spring or summer sometimes that means you have to do your engagement session in late fall or winter. At Ariel Dawn Photography we can still make a crunchy brown leaf scenery look cool! ;)

I always encourage couples to bring whatever they find meaningful together to their engagement session! Now Payton and Deborah will always have pretzels twisted into their engagement session photos. (See what I did there?)

California Couple Married in the Mountains of Montana | Bend, Oregon Wedding Photographer

Amber and Doug wanted to get out of LA, leave the big city behind to visit the mountains and experience what ranch life was like. What better place to do that than Standford, Montana, at the Hughes Mountain Ranch. Over several visits, becoming dear friends of the Hughes', and falling in love with the "magic of the ranch" and "cowboy life," they decided to celebrate their wedding there with their families and a few close friends.

A beautiful small ceremony facing endless scenery of fields, trees, and mountains.

I love the simple yet elegant decorations of flowers, wooden chairs, and arch.

A beautiful June day to celebrate a wedding.

It's no wonder that Doug and Amber fell in love with Montana on their vacations from California!

Doug was completely awestruck when he saw Amber for the first time in her wedding dress.

Amber's grandpa did the honor of walking his granddaughter down the aisle.

Doug looked dashing in his blue groom suit and red bow tie.

Amber's smile did not leave her face the entire wedding ceremony. You could tell she was in heaven.

Amber's sisters and brother were the bridesmaids and groomsman. You could see teary eyes on some of them as they watch their sister get married to her soulmate.

Amber and Doug brought their three dogs all the way from California for the grand celebration.

While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we went to the ceremony arch to capture a few more pictures with the picturesque Montana background.

Doug embraced full Montana style and wore his cowboy hat for some of their photos.

I didn't know which Amber enjoyed more, Doug wearing the hat or ripping the hat off his head to pull him in for a kiss.

I was glad to have taken a few extra dog portraits of Frodo because he passed away a few months after the wedding.

We love you Frodo.

By far one of the best wedding vendor meals I have ever had. YUMMMM!!!

Toasts continued throughout the receptions as all guests had only wonderful and lovely things to say about the bride and groom.

Macee & Matthew Wedding | Arrowpeak Lodge, Montana Wedding | Bend, Oregon Wedding Photographer

Macee and Matt Barton had a beautiful wedding ceremony at Arrowpeak Lodge in Montana near Great Falls where I used to live. It was a cool fall afternoon when I arrived at the lodge. Colors everywhere! Yellows, oranges, reds from the aspen trees, snowy blue mountains in the background and deep greens from the giant pines surrounding the entire venue.
